Tara Lynn MacDougall ~ [21st century] Canadian
Tara Lynn MacDougall is an interdisciplinary artist based in TiohtiĆ :ke/Montreal, QC. Her practice combines painting, sculpture, performance and printmaking. An important part of her work involves reinterpreting the art historical canon and transforming its conventions into new or unusual forms. She prioritizes attributing value and meaning to things - be they stories, people, or formal qualities of an artwork - that are otherwise disregarded or neglected. Her work has been presented in exhibitions and residencies across Canada and the United States. She obtained a BFA from NSCAD University and an MFA from the University of Lethbridge.
