Biographical Information
Adam Whitford ~ [21st century] Canadian
Adam Whitford is a curator, writer, and occasionally, an artist. He holds a BFA in Art & Design as well as an MA in the History of Art, Design, and Visual Culture from the University of Alberta. His research and artwork intersect at the imagined objectivity of the photograph and the material corruptions that images are capable of. Utilizing combinations of archival photographs, digital photography, and printmaking, his artwork considers how re-presenting photographs might hint at the chemical, optical, documentary, and cultural forces within. Adam Whitford has exhibited at Casa, the Works Art and Design Festival and the FAB Gallery, Edmonton and is published by Canadian Art, Galleries West, Public Parking, the Southern Alberta Art Gallery, and the Art Gallery of Burlington.
Interim Curator of the Southern Alberta Art Gallery
