Reference: Art Placement, Saskatoon presented an exhibition, A Painted Diary in 2018 surveying more than three decades of Cook’s landscape painting. Her work debuted in Saskatoon at the Mendel Art Gallery in 1973 and she has exhibited with Art Placement since 1985. Contributing to Saskatchewan’s strong tradition of landscape painting, Cook’s unique vision of the ever-changing prairies and boreal forests of the province remains rooted in direct observation, capturing the essence of place as it is experienced firsthand. Throughout the decades, she has had the opportunity to paint numerous far-flung corners of Saskatchewan’s wilderness, while also returning regularly to a handful of favourite locales.
Louise Cook is originally from the small northern community of Fir Ridge. Reference: Cowin was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. He entered Indiana University with an eye on a career as a medical illustrator. Later transferring to fine arts and specializing in printmaking, he completed his BFA in 1969 and received his MFA from the University of Illinois in 1971. He then accepted a position in the Fine Arts Dept. at the University of Regina, teaching for 36 years, retiring in 2007.

Reference: Star Crop Eared Wolf is a Niitsiitapi multidisciplinary artist, curator, and member of the Kainai Nation. Crop Eared Wolf graduated from The University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Native Art and Museum Studies. Her past and current media include painting, sculpture, photography, video, and beading. She uses her art practices to explore themes centered around land, culture, social and political issues impacting Indigenous peoples.

Dagmar Dahle, a visual artist and writer, has lived and worked in Lethbridge since 1997 and is a retired faculty member of the Department of Art at the University of Lethbridge. Dagmar has participated in international residencies including The Arctic Circle [Svalbard, Norway, 2015], ZK/U [Berlin, 2017], Canada Council Paris Studio, [Paris, 2008]. Her exhibitions include Le Temps du Jardin Des Portes - Art Contemporain - Chateau des Portes, Mainsat, France, 2017; The Blue Marble [La Bille Bleue], L’Endroit Indiqué, Montreal, 2016; Animal, a touring exhibtion curated by Corinna Ghaznvi, 2011-12; Weaving van Gogh, Stride Gallery [Calgary] and Moose Jaw Museum and Art Gallery and 2008-09. Her poetic prose text entitled Painting John Brown Painting was published in Ars Medica: A journal of medicine, the arts and humanities, University of Toronto Press, 2008. Dagmar exhibited in Lethbridge at CASA Gallery [After Us, September- October 2021] and she recently presented a solo exhibition, Tangle at the Southern Alberta Art Gallery (December 3, 2022 - February 11, 2023). Dagmar studied at the University of Victoria (BFA 1986) and the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (MFA 1991).

Reference: born in Pilot Mound, Manitoba. He attended the School of Art at the University of Manitoba where he received his Bachelor of Art [1960] and Bachelor of Education [1962]. He became an instruct at the Alberta College of Art in print making, drawing and design from 1964-68. He taught print making and drawing at the University of Calgary until his retirement [1968-80]. Esler also established Trojan Press with artist Ken webb for local printmakers.

Mandy Espezel is an interdisciplinary artist working within the expanded field of painting. Engaged in an intersectional-feminist phenomenological discourse, their work explores manifestations of anxiety, desire, humour, and failure through material-intuitive processes. Espezel received a BFA from the University of Alberta (2007), and an MFA from the University of Lethbridge (2012), where they teach in the Art Department as an Instructor. Their work has been supported by the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, and the Canada Council for the Arts. Espezel has participated in numerous exhibitions and residencies, within Canada and abroad. Their solo exhibition Body Longing was installed in the upstairs gallery at the Southern Alberta Art Gallery in November of 2021. Espezel is based in Treaty 7, Sikoohkotoki/Lethbridge, in the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy. Currently, they are Artist in Residence at ISCP, the International Studio and Curatorial Program, in Brooklyn, New York. Recent exhibition at the Southern Alberta Art Gallery titled Body Longing was held in 2021
